About Kazhiranga

Kazhiranga National Park is a wild life sanctuary in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. A World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Kazhiranga boasts the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world and also have large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. Kazhiranga is recognized as an Important Bird Area by Birdlife International for conservation of avifaunal species.

About Diphlu River Lodge

Diphlu River Lodge opened in 2008 is a Jungle resort in Assam providing much-needed top-class accommodation at Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site. Diphlu River separates the resort the National Park itself, and the jungle views from the eco resort are exceptional. This wild life resort in Kazhiranga has 12 eco-friendly cottages on stilts. The jungle Lodge has a  multicuisine restaurant “ Machan” built on Bamboo, is the ideal place for guests to congregate and  swap the day's jungle stories over a drink or a delicious meal, sink onto sofas with a book from the library, relax by the fireplace on chilly winter evenings, enjoy an all fresco breakfast on the verandah after returning from early morning safari, watch for birds or scan the opposite bank for wild animals.

From our  river bank  jetty , the guests can  embark on river trips in dugout canoes, from which they can look out for otters and for buffalo, deer or rhino grazing on the far bank. This River Bank area is also perfect for the barbecues, camp fires and to watch sunset across the river. The grounds of this jungle lodge in Kazhiranga have been carefully planned to preserve the natural environment. The eco-friendly operation of the resort includes re-cycling grey water for irrigation.

Foreign National:
Rs.12,000/- per person per night on twin share. Single supplement Rs. 6,000 per night.
Indian National:
Rs.6, 000/- per person per night on twin share. Single supplement Rs. 3,000 per night
The tariff is inclusive of

Terms and Conditions

  • The tariff is subject to change without prior notice
  • Check in time is 12 pm and Check out time is 11am
  • The tariff is Valid from 1st April 2012 up to 30th September 2012 
  • Children less than 5 years will be complimentary without extra bed.
  • A guaranteed reservation will be held until 1800 hrs unless a late arrival is specified.
  •  The hotel reserves the right to cancel non -guaranteed reservations, after the cut off date.
  • In case of a no show or cancellation of a guaranteed reservation, the hotel reserves the right to levy retention charge for the entire stay

How to get there
Diphlu River Lodge is situated on National Highway 37, 220 kms east of Guwahati. There are scheduled flights from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangkok into Guwahati airport, and from Kolkata into Tezpur and Jorhat airports. Guwahati is approximately 4 hours driving time, Jorhat 2 ½ and Tezpur 1 hour.

Major cities near the park are Guwahati (217 kilometres (135 mi)) and Jorhat (97 kilometres (60 mi)). Furkating 75 kilometres (47 mi), which is under the supervision of Northeast Frontier Railway, is the nearest railway station.

Places of tourist Interest

Observing the wildlife, including birding, is the main visitor activity in and around the park. Guided tours by elephant or Jeep are available. Hiking is prohibited in the park to avoid potential human-animal conflicts. Observation towers are situated at Sohola, Mihimukh, Kathpara, Foliamari, and Harmoti for wildlife viewing. The Lower Himalayan peaks frame the park's landscape of trees and grass interspersed with numerous ponds. An interpretation centre is being set up at the Bagori range of Kazhiranga, to help visitors learn more about the park.
